Martin Bittick is a professional piano tuner and has been in the music business in one way or the other since before he finished high school. He has a music education degree from LSU. He holds a Masters of Music Education degree from LSU and has completed all his residence requirements and coursework towards his PhD in Music Education. Martin taught music in the public schools of Vicksburg, MS. He was assistant professor of music at Georgia College and Belhaven College. He served as music director of several churches in the Jackson, MS area.
In 1979, Martin made a career change from music to real estate. He owned his own real estate firm, Bittick Realty, from 1985-2008. During this time, he founded the Mississippi Chorus. where he directed for fifteen seasons. Martin closed his real estate firm in 2008 and returned to a field related to his real passion, music.
Mr. Bittick brings the same passion and skills to his piano tuning that he has in all his musical endeavors. He has tuned hundreds of pianos including pianos belonging to schools, churches, and professional musicians. He says "My goal is to make the piano sound as good as the piano will allow."
Martin recently moved to Knoxville to be closer to his daughter and is now tuning in the greater Knoxville area.
